SADA congratulates Narelle Zanker on SA Rural Women’s Award
The South Australian Dairyfarmers’ Association (SADA) proudly congratulates Mannum dairy farmer, educator and SADA member Narelle Zanker on being named the 2026 AgriFutures Rural Women’s Award winner for South Australia. This achievement is a testament to her dedication, creativity and commitment to strengthening connections between farmers and the broader community. Narelle’s work is not only elevating the profile of the dairy industry but also inspiring the next generation to engage with agriculture. We look forward to seeing her continue to lead and represent South Australia on the national stage.
Narelle, from Mannum, has been recognised for her outstanding contribution to agricultural education through co-founding Dairy Adventures—an initiative designed to connect people with the origins of their food. Drawing on her background in teaching and school agriculture programs, Narelle delivers engaging, hands-on farm experiences that bridge the gap between urban communities and the dairy industry.
SADA CEO Andrew Curtis said Narelle’s nomination reflects the strength, innovation and leadership within South Australia’s dairy sector.
“Narelle is an exceptional advocate for dairy farming and regional communities. Through Dairy Adventures, she is helping build trust and understanding between farmers and consumers—something that is critical to the future of our industry,” he said.
“Her passion for education and her ability to tell the story of dairy in a meaningful way is something we are incredibly proud of.”
SADA also acknowledges the other finalists, Kelly Kuhn and Hayley Hancock, for their contributions to regional South Australia through tourism, sustainability and innovation in agricultural services.
